Feel free to add me to any of the above!
A moment of silence for an Angel and a King.
I know that entries about today's double tragedy are going to be overflowing, but out of respect and as a small tribute to my favorite artist of all time, I'd like to drop a few thoughts myself.
I didn't know much about Farrah Fawcett, but I don't need to. I know she was a person with a family and friends and fans that loved her, so that is enough to have me offer her a moment of silence.
Michael Jackson is a bigger impact for me. Regardless, absoloutely regardless of all the bullshit and tabloids and rumors about him, he was the biggest musical inspiration in my entire life. I remember when I was nine and ten years old, learning all of his songs and the dances that go with them and putting on little concerts for my Grandma. I remember when my Grandma passed away, listening to 'You Are Not Alone' on her record player because it was one of her favorite songs.
I remember wanting to be like him because of his complete modesty, absolute humbleness and a genuine, sincere kindness to everyone. Even those slightly crazy fans that would jump up on stage and hug him mid-song. He never made a disparaging remark about anyone, and I admired that enormously - especially considering everything he went through.
I'm not going to jump all over people who are being flippant - some people just didn't like him as musician. However, I wish those people would have a little more compassion. He was a human being. For all that it's hard to see that through the media glare sometimes, even for me, he had a family; children, parents, brothers and sisters who are mourning the loss of their father, son, and brother. That in itself should be enough, regardless of his fame, to have us all extending our condolences to his family and feeling the loss of life that's struck us today.
Nobody has the right to judge him as a person - and that includes me. My impressions of him are what I've gathered from the media over a number of years, just like everyone else - and from what I saw, I have found him to be an admirable, inspirational, dedicated and hardworking man, who did more for music than anyone else ever has.
Michael Jackson and his music have inspired me more than anything else throughout my entire life, and I will never forget the impact he's left on the world, and on me personally.
Rest in peace, Farrah and Michael.
Both of you were too young, but you'll never be forgotten.
as always,
yours sincerely;
=Jiyuu-Chan.

Prepare for trouble...
...And make it double
To protect the world from devastation...
...to unite all peoples within our nation.
To Denounce the evils of truth and love...
...To extend our reach to the stars above.
P.S.; Team Rocket ftw!
